Tick-Tock, Eventually Killer Kross Will Be A World Champion

When it comes to seeing Smackdown, Karrion Kross is the wrestler that I look forward to seeing the most.

Since I saw him on MLW I went down the Killer Kross rabbit hole, and I was excited when WWE NXT signed him a few years ago. On NXT he had solid matches and angles that kept us invested in him. His first run towards the NXT World Championship was great, and him being able to wrestle while injured in his first NxT world championship match against champion Keith Lee revealed his toughness that a lot of wrestlers in this generation doesn’t possess. In that match he injured his shoulder, and him going over as champion lasted about a couple of days. He had to vacate the title, and he was sidelined for 4 months. After he returned from injury he went on another title run, and after becoming a 2 time NXT champion he went on a longer run than his first one. At the return of In Your House he defeated 4 other NXT wrestlers in 1 night in a fatal-5 way match. His run as NXT champion ended when Samoan Joe defeated him. After that he went full time to the WWE Main Roster of Raw, and after that he and his manager/wife Scarlet was among the cuts WWE made in November of 2021. After Triple H took over WWE this past Summer, Karrion Kross along with Scarlet returned to start a program with Drew McIntyre, and he is now looking to begin a program with Rey Mysterio Jr.

Killer Kross checks all the boxes to be a successful professional wrestler. He’s got the size, look, and he is a legit professional wrestler. He is a Judo practitioner, and he has boxing experience. Along with all these things, he gets the business. His ring psychology reflects that. Him, and his wife understands the importance of drawing the crowds emotion. One of the things that made his feud with Drew McIntyre a success was the pacing of their matches. They knew when to slow down and stop. For that is what would happen after one of them did a big move. This allowed the crowd to feel what they were doing, and Kross moving up the chain with all that he’s got points to that he will eventually be a WWE World Champion.

A person that used to watch wrestling in the 80s-90s I would say that Killer Kross is kind of similar to Nikita Koloff. He comes off as a brute brawler, that comes off legit.
