What Made The Monday Night War/Attitude Era?

I been on a WrestleMania binge over at Peacock TV, and I finished watching all seasons of Young Rock. As a longtime wrestling fan I enjoyed watching the show.

The other day I finished WrestleMania 12, and at that time it was interesting for professional wrestling. It was like a calm before the storm. For WrestleMania 12 happened in March 31, and it was nearly 2 months before Scott Hall debuted (05/27/96) on Monday Nitro with his infamous “You Want A War” promo.

On the WM12 card you had 3 of the 5 members of the Kliq. Nash( Diesel), Triple H, and HBK were on the card. Nash was on his way to WCW. The infamous curtain call took place before WM12, because WWF was looking for a way to punish the Kliq for it. They couldn’t punish Shawn due to him being the one to be the next WWF champion after Brett Hart, so they punished Triple H by having him being squashed by the Ultimate Warrior that returned to the WWF. Also the punishment for HHH was him no longer being the one to go over at the 96 King Of The Ring, so instead Austin 3:16 was born. After the 3:16 promo Stone Cold Steve Austin became a star. Hm it should make us wonder what if the curtain call never took place, and what if Bischoff never became in charge of WCW? I think the far answer to that question would be there would have been no Monday Night War Era. That era was the result of Bishoff’s offering big money to top WWF talent, and the infamous Kliq curtain call.

When Bischoff was after big WWF talent as Hall and Nash, he had plans of forming the NWO. Hall, and Nash felt that with what they were doing for the WWF that they were not being paid enough. Therefore they took Bishoff’s huge money offer to return to WCW. For it is fair to say that it paid off, because with the NWO Angle Bischoff with WCW Monday Nitro defeated Vince’s WWF Monday Night War for 83 weeks straight. Therefore with Bischoff offering huge money to top WWF talent was one result of the Monday Night War Era.

Without the infamous Kliq curtain call it is fair to say that WWF would have stayed the course with HHH winning the King Of The Ring. That would have meant there would been no Austin 3:16, and we would have never seen the Attitude Era. For Austin was the main piece for that era, and his 3:16 promo at the 96 King Of The Ring launched it. Again for that to take place the Kliq curtain call had to take place, or Triple H would been the one to win King Of The Ring 96.

Therefore Bischoff offering WWF superstars huge contracts, and the infamous Kliq curtain call were causes of the Monday Night War/Attitude Era.
